Estey Organ Museum Web Site Debuts

Brattleboro, VT USA July 1, 2002 -- While the Estey Organ Museum doesn't have a physical home yet, it does have a virtual location - on the Internet, thanks to a donation by Brattleboro web developers MuseArts, Inc.

The site will serve as an information hub for the museum, featuring news updates, membership and donation information, photos, organ identification information, and links to additional web resources. Additional information about the buildings, exhibits, events, and opportunities will be added as the project progresses.

"While we raise funds to purchase the Estey Factory buildings to house the museum, we wanted to have someplace for people to get information about the project," said Cindy Wilcox, President of the Estey Organ Museum.

Anyone with an interest in the Estey Organ Museum should visit the site and sign up for e-mail announcements of special museum events and news. You can also become a member of the museum, and support the creation of a world-class interactive music museum here in Brattleboro.

The virtual Estey Organ Museum is located at www.esteyorganmuseum.org and is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Admission is free.

The Estey Organ Museum was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization to celebrate the heritage of Estey Organ Company of Brattleboro, Vermont by the collection, restoration, display and performance of Estey and other organs; by the preservation, research, interpretation and dissemination of historical information about the company, its products and manufacturing practices, its owners, employees, markets, customers and competitors, and its effect in the context of Brattleboro and American history over time; and by the creation of a museum in which the aforementioned activities may occur.
