Press Release

ESTEY ORGAN MUSEUM SUMMER PROGRAMS
Sunday Sing-a-long's in August

Brattleboro, VT, USA, July 16, 2003 -- The Estey Organ Museum in Brattleboro has been open for just over a month now, and visitors from Brattleboro and beyond have been dropping in for a look at the town's newest museum. With growing interest and attendance, the Estey Organ Museum is set to debut its first program for museum visitors: Sing-a-long Sundays for the month of August.

Included in the $2 admission (free for museum members) will be a chance to gather around an original Estey reed organ and sing popular songs from earlier eras. Lyric sheets will be provided, and all are welcome to participate. Each Sing-a-long Sunday program will be held from 3pm to 4pm at the museum.

"We've done singing events around town and people have had lots of fun revisiting bygone days of parlor organs and playing popular music in Victorian homes," said Cindy Wilcox, president. "Now that the museum is open, it is natural for us to continue this in our new home."

Visitors will be able to explore the Estey Organ Museum's exhibits, including reed, pipe, and electronic organs built by Estey. A special exhibit on the work of Estey employee and inventor Harald Bode, a pioneer in the field of electro-acoustic sound generation, is also on display.

The Estey Organ Museum is open from 1 to 5 pm, Saturdays and Sundays, through Columbus Day. It is located at 108 Birge Street in Brattleboro, in the center of the original Estey Organ Company building complex. Call 802-24-ORGAN (67426) during museum hours for more information, or visit www.esteyorganmuseum.org on the Internet.
