ESTEY ORGAN MUSEUM FINAL WEEKEND
Walking Tour of Factory Buildings Saturday and Sunday

Brattleboro, VT, USA, October 9, 2003 -- The Estey Organ Museum is wrapping up its first season this weekend with special walking tours of the factory complex. The tours begin at the Estey Organ Museum's Engine House, 108 Birge Street (Rear), on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 at 2 pm.

The public is invited take a free walking tour of the Estey Organ Company factory buildings. Learn about their construction in the late 1800's, the use of slate, and how the buildings were used when the factory was in operation. Tours will be led by building owner Barbara George on Saturday and local historian and Estey Museum board member John Carnahan on Sunday. You can also visit the museum while you are there.

Admission is $2, and free for members of the museum. The Estey Organ Museum is open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, and features exhibits on reed, pipe, and electronic organs as well as the factory itself. The museum will close for the winter and re-open next spring.

The Estey Organ Museum was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization to celebrate the heritage of Estey Organ Company of Brattleboro, Vermont. The museum will collect, restore, display and feature performances of Estey and other organs. The museum is also dedicated to the preservation, research, interpretation and dissemination of historical information about the company, its products and manufacturing practices, its owners, employees, markets, customers and competitors, and its effect in the context of Brattleboro and American history over time.
