SECOND ANNUAL HOLIDAY SING-A-LONG SCHEDULED
Estey Organ Museum and Brattleboro Museum & Art Center Plan Festivities

Brattleboro, VT November 27, 2003 -- Estey Organ Museum and Brattleboro Museum & Art Center invite you to participate in the 2nd Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long. This interactive musical event is schedule from 6-8 pm at the BMAC on Friday, December 5th. Refreshments will be served and the event is free and open to the public.

The event is part of the December Gallery Walk evening of events in town.

This is a chance to relive the "good old days", when people would gather in the Victorian parlor and sing songs to the accompaniment of a parlor organ. The parlor organ was often powered by the organist pumping the bellows with their feet as they played, providing a musical workout for the organist in more ways than one. A parlor organ made by the Estey Organ Company of Brattleboro will be played at the museum

Music and lyrics for popular holiday songs will be provided for those willing to lend a voice. Organists for the evening will be provided. Members of both museums will be on hand to answer questions about exhibits, artifacts, and future plans.

The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is located in Union Station at the intersection of Main Street and Routes 119 and 142 in downtown Brattleboro. The Museum is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available in front of the Museum, with additional parking at the Marlboro College Technology Center next to the Museum on Vernon Street. Regular BMAC gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. through December 31. Admission to the galleries is free during Gallery Walk, but regularly $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and students, and free for members and for children 12 and under. Group tours may be arranged.
